About
There is a distinct lack of separation between You and you. Between the You that is sitting here reading this and the you that is Your reflection online. While You may have autonomy over both and may feel as though they are the same thing, You are only fully in control of one of them. The other perpetually grows, a reflection of the perceptions of others and the ripples of movements made by You.
One day, You will die.
And you will live on.
And all that dictates that You ever existed, all proof of a life lived with value, is the you stored redundantly as ones and zeros.
If death is unavoidable and all that's left of us are the remnants we leave behind, what do You want to have represent you when You go? Do the things you do online dictate who You are? Who You'll be remembered as? Are you a collection of ideas and dreams, unrealized and unfulfilled? Are you a canvas of memories painted by those with dirty brushes? Is that what happiness looks like? What does it mean to die happy?
Virtual Death was created to explore these ideas.
